A new model year always brings both excitement and a bit of anxiety, especially when a full redesign is in the offing. Will the new model be as good as the old? What will it bring to the table? It's a valid concern, but Ram has done their fans proud. Let's check out a comparison of the 2018 Ram 1500 vs. 2019 Ram 1500 so you can see the biggest changes.

An All-New Truck

2018 Ram 1500 DesignThe first thing to understand is that this year's model of 1500 is entirely new. It's a ground-up redesign, which means that there are as many differences as there are similarities, though the breakdown of each truck is similar, and it does still offer fantastic levels of performance, luxury, and comfort.

The most notable new upgrades and features include more room in the crew-cab configuration cabin as well as a beefier payload and higher towing capacity. You'll get an upgraded suspension and a new hybrid system, which improves fuel economy in all engines, both V6 and V8. Finally, there's a new, updated version of the Ram infotainment system.

The 2018 Ram 1500 is available in eleven standard trim levels, plus a number of special-edition models. These range from the base Tradesman level, through the HFE EcoDiesel and Express mid-range models, to the high-end Big Horn, Sport, Night, and Lone Star Silver, up through the luxurious Rebel, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited models.
